    As far as I know, it was an Hacienda. I'm investigating its origins and what family lived there etc. as we speak. It sparked my interest and I have recently got in contact with a historian from the area.

    Hehe, I like Adobe software much more than Corel and others.

    I found out some more info. These ruins are of an Hacienda which was inhabited by the Amparo Mining Company owners back in the 17'th century. El Amapro is a town 14 kilometers through the hills close to the Jalisco Nayarit border. I've been talking more with the historian and will get some more info soon.

    General purpose chimney for cooking etc. Since the region is very hilly and during the dry season, there is a lot of dry bush, they made it as high as possible to make sure burning ash didn't produce wild fires.

    Thanks Corrosion. The really weird thing is that it was done from a moving car. I've taken stuff on tripods that haven't looked this good. Just a good day with perfect weather.
