Re: Xbox 360
I'll wait until I see it in person. I don't think there will be a terrible shortage until closer to Christmas.

Yeah, this definetely appears to be the case. I might buy the Xbox 360 though when it drops in price just to play the new Elder Scrolls. I figure I have plenty of time to decide.

Re: Xbox 360
I wouldn't bid too much on what you've seen. Because developers tailor the trailers so that they run smoothly which may not be how they are performing during the testing. I'm having to abstain from the console wars, but I'm curious by the Revolution, I wanna see Xbox's lineup of RPGs and PS3's launch titles.

xBox 360: Maybe, might get it for christmas
PS3: too expensive (ive heared its cost around £600(yes im british)) looks the best out of the 3 though
Nintendo Revolution: Interesting, want to see the games in action before i make a judgement.

Re: Xbox 360
I want an Xbox360, but us poor college students cant afford it...maybe Santa will be nice.....but heres my thoughts on the NGS (Next Generation Systems)
XBOX360 - Releasing earlier than all other systems, mainly to try and take most of the consumers and for Christmas time. However, Microsoft is more than ready to release their new console. It has impressive graphics (look at COD2) and has many release titles. As well, they have "HALO 3" releasing hopefully by summer. System design is beautiful with out of the box wireless controls. And since Im an XboxLIVE subscriber...its just that much better cause their new Live system is gonna be great. However, 360 lacks some original titles...but I think their selection of games will be great overtime. Most of their good games will be compatible provided you get the $400 version (harddrive). Overall, I think 360 will be the best system.
PS3 - Playstation 3 is the powerhouse of the three systems. They do have the fastest processors but then again, they also arent releasing it till late spring so they have some more time. It will have an online system, but it not be comparable to Xbox's. The design, is very, however, well not good looking. 360 looks like a feel of the future, but PS3 is an oval shape shell thingy...not impressed sony...sorry. PS3 also lacks a little more in release titles, as they do not have an unique console game. Even though it has the most power, I don't feel it will utilitize it without strong games. It IS compatible with all old PS1 and PS2 games. PS3 uses Blu-Ray disc which holds like 54GB! Impressed by that one sony.
REVOLUTION - The 'revolutionary' system. But its not really that revolutionary, I had a TV remote since 1st grade. Well it's a little more complicated.... By Tech Specs, revolution is the slowest of the systems, but Nintendo says that it will look just like the 360 and PS3. Nintedo however has a different target audience. While XBOX and PS3 fight over the 'hardcore gamers,' Nintendo focuses on the general audience...people who want to actually have fun playing games, not playing games very intensly. Their system has a great selection of games, if the controller proves to be useable. Nintedo has been successful many time with new products; powerpad, D-pad, 64....and have had many EXCELLENT console-only games (mario, zelda, pokemon, the list goes on.....) The revolution will be fun, have good games, and hopefully play well. I think it will finish 2nd in sales, gettin beat by the giant MS. And BTW, you can play NES, SNES, 64, AND GAMECUBE GAMEES ON THIS BABY....OH BABY OH BABY.....maybe ill have to get two systems????
So
1st Place - XBOX
2nd Place - REVOLUTION
3rd Place - SONY
all systems will be seen throughout the market.....i dont think any system will dreamcast.....im mean bomb....

Re: Xbox 360
also, if you know a thing or two about programming you'll no that the way ps3 is laid out is not conducive to programming. It's confusing and annoying whereas xbox360 is built for compatibility. The ps3's pre-rendered shots will look better than xxbox 360's initially but the gameplay will be much clunkier. Some japanese developers (Square Enix) are already throwing their support behind 360.
Revolution, in my mind will be the most creative and enjoyable experience. We've all seen that sweet little controller, but, according to Nintendo, the most revolutionary aspect of Revolution has not been revealed. Theories have been thrown around for a while but it's really anybodies guess.
Finally, we have to look at what the systems offer in terms of exclusive games.
Microsoft: Halo, Rare (Kameo, Perfect Dark, more to come in 2006), Oblivion(also for PC)
Nintendo: Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Super Smash Brothers, Starfox, the list just goes on and on
Sony: Grand Theft Auto...kinda. GTA games are not exclusive to playstation, they simply release there first but always seem to end up in a better form on xbox. Also, Square Enix makers of final fantasy have had a loose affiliation with sony which is now in jeapordy because the developers want to work with xbox 360 and Nintendo. Lara Croft started out on Sony but that is no longer exclusive eitherThis is where sony is going to get killed. They have no exclusive games. Crash Bandicoot simply will not cut it.
