Well theres a manual way and a program.

Manual...

1. Backup (copy) the file %windir%\system32\ntoskrnl.exe (most likely C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe - the boot screen)
2. Download the .zip to your computer (important: make sure to get the right version, XP or XP SP1)
3. Extract ntoskrnl.exe to a directory other than %windir%\system32 (most likely C:\windows\system32)
4. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode (hit F8 before the boot screen) or into true DOS (from a boot disk)
5. Overwrite the file %windir%\system32\ntoskrnl.exe (which should have been backed up) with the extracted exe
6. Reboot your computer as you normally would
P.S. This is for taking a file from the net.

Boy I dodged a bullet there. After installing and running both programs my PC started getting real funny.
After startup I would get a windows installer screen.. But it would pop up an error message. Something about System works 2005, Anf said to uninstall it. Well several attempts and some reg changes latter I fixed it..
Makes me wonder what I did.. hahaha. Well ya live ya learn..

Yeah, when your changing anything in the system reg, always set a restore point first.

Yeah, But for some reason I can never restore... It allways fails..
Trial by error, Thats how I roll! hehehe I use norton ghost for the basic OS restore. Then just reinstall everything I need. Which is on another Hard Drive.

Yeah it gives an error. But says restore failed.
I do mess with the reg a bit.
And Msconfig to eliminate uneeded startups.
And I just reformatted last Monday.
Is it possible that the Norton systemworks premeire 2005 wont let it? I also have tried an .exe for my Mobo bios that never works. (Got it off the Intel site.)
Like I said I learn by making mistakes. heheh At one point I was rtefomatting twice a week, A couple years ago. I likw to get in there and see what things do.

So its letting you set a restore point, but when you go to restore it wont let you.
If that is the problem, try microsofts troubleshooting..

Yeah, your version of Norton has a restore program on it aswell, this could be blocking the xp restore (hate norton with a passion! Takes too much control). Maybe turn it off and try to set a restore point.

You want the iamge you used for your avator to be your Welcome Logon's background and nothing more?
If you use it as your desktop wallpaper, then using TweakUI you can do it.

I think I've seen logon screen that uses the same background as what you're looking for but it might take me a while to find it again. I know for sure I've seen the Boot Screen that uses your image.

Because I'm such a nice guy, and because I have a virtualpc that I can beat up and not give a shit, I "installed" it on there and got the ZIP file of it for you.

Now because the "readme.txt" doesn't tell you how, another classic asshole thing to do, I will. The only part they tell you what do without screwing around is installing the new font file to the Font folder.
If you're not using SP2, then extract the EXE from the "PiratedEditionIII" folder. Other wise extract the EXE from the "PrtdEdtnIIISP2" folder.

1. Boot into Safe Mode. If you don't know how to do that, then you shouldn't be fucking around with this sort of thing.
2. Go to C:\Windows\System32 and find 'logonui.exe'
3. Rename 'logonui.exe' to 'logonui.bak'
4. Take the EXE you extracted and rename it to 'logonui.exe'
5. If you're smart you'll see where this is going...copy the new logonui.exe to C:\Windows\System32
6. Restart, you should see your pirate during the restart process. If not you screwed up.
7. Enjoy your new logon screen.
