know of any free and good ones that are fun to use? a good way to waste some time while getting some practice in

Like to teach typing? Or a program that types things for you when you hit a set of hotkeys, a macro program?

I suggest just using a normal cloak, use the second hand to time.
Pick some sort of phrase or put a book/printout of some sort.
This way works very well, and it will be more difficult, but
it will pay off more then a program. I type average of 80wpm,
max at 106wpm (errors...)
This will work wounders on your keyboarding skills...
