LaDanian Tomlinson
Man, could this guy go down as the best RB ever??
In 6 games this season he already has scored thirteen....THIRTEEN TD's. Since 2001 he has damn near 80 touchdowns.
Funny to think he was the 5th overall pick in the draft.

I dunno if I could ever call him the "best RB ever", but damn close... he sure is one talented mofo.

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
Of course right now you can't say that he is the best ever....but if he plays another 5 seasons, and gets near what he has done already, it would be a good argument.
Question is, can he stay fresh for 5 more seasons.

and you're still not winning? :happycow:
LT is teh awesome! I got his jersey a two years ago (I think it was 2). I wanted the mezmerizing baby blue ones, but had to settle for the white one.
His stats from his first couple seasons are even more impressive when you realize San Diego didn't have much of anything else on their offense, he was it.

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
LT is an awful lot of fun to watch, as long as it is not your team he is runnig against.
He is a very good back, but Korn said it, 5 more years and stay healthy, and we shall see.
Everybody was praising Terrell Davis, he was great, but injuries ended it.
That is just an example that you have to play a long time.

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
yeah, hard to do stuff like smith, sanders, and bettis. smith and bettis even got hurt, but they stayed rather productive for a long time.

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
Emmitt = teh sux
If Brown and Sanders wouldn't have retired in their primes, Emmitt would be nowhere near the top. Plus, he had them big fuckers blocking for him all those years. Give him Barry's line and he wouldn't have run for half them yards. Can you tell I dispise the Cokeboys?

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
that may be true, but he stayed healthy long enough to pass Sweetness
How long did Jim Brown play? I know he was good, but I just don't get why everyone lables him as the greatest ever? Maybe if he would have continued his career and played longer I would readily agree with that.

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
Jim Brown never has a rushing average under 4.3 yards a carry. Mainly because the guy was a beast. You never saw Brown run out of bounds to avoid a hit. He would knock three linemen on their asses like bowling pins. To me...thats football...thats how the game was meant to be played.
Not to mention in 9 seasons he scored 120+ TD's.

Re: LaDanian Tomlinson
i'm not saying those guys suck, but they quit for a reason. emmitt worked hard to get where he is. yeah, barry could have done more, maybe brown could have too. BUT, even if that was the case that would still leave emmitt in 3rd. Seems pretty close to the top if you ask me.
I saw emmitt knock the shit out of people back in the day, but after he got hurt he had to play diff. he wasn't as big as brown and didn't have the shake-n-bake of barry, but he put in the work to get where he was. emmitt is a fav of mine and always will be.
one would think i like julius jones, but he does nothing for me despite being a cowboy fan. sometimes it is hard to move on past someone like an emmitt. i can def respect bledsoe and keyshawn, but jones has done nothing for me yet.
BUT, back to LT. with his performances, i can see how the city loves him. i love him just b/c he is my fantasy back. that kinda stuff makes me love pro ball again...

Don't forget finishing out a game with a fucking broken leg... that right there solidifies his title as best ever.
Oh, and what about teh Sweetness? Not a mention of Payton in this thread.
