A weird computer problem, I need your help
Hey guys. I need your help with a weird fuckin' problem I’m having.
My computer runs fine idle and sometimes when I play games, but maybe once or twice a day if I’m playing a lot of games it will Hard Freeze and my speakers will admit a high pitched buzz. I know this sounds like a typical overheating error, but it seems unlikely to me I idle at 39C and when under a full load I’m at about 47C. These aren’t really high temps. I have really good Processor cooling and I just bought a new fan for my Video card...although my video card may be overheating. I've checked my ram with memtest86 and got no errors. I have the latest sound card driver and I think the latest video card driver. Here are my specs
xfx gforce fx 5500
intel P4 2.8ghz
audigy 2 zs gamer edition
asus p4s800d-e delux mobo
1 gig geil ram with heatspreads
5 fans, good air flow (i think)
Please help, I keep losing info and saved games, I'm really sick of this shit. Thanks a ton in advance

Re: A weird computer problem, I need your help
I had something like that where my computer would just randomly freeze and admitted a high pitched buzz. The only thing was it would not even turn back on for a while. This happened after one of my speakers fell no more than a foot on top of my tower. Apparently, it had something to do with my graphics card being jiggled loose a little or something (its not screwed in...I'm too lazy) But anyways, since u did just take out ur graphics card recently, try taking it out and putting it back in making sure its in tight and well. Just unplug and plug back in all the connections between harddrives, cds and motherboards to make sure they are all fine. Umm, I dunno what else, try that and yeah, it sounds liek a hardware problem. though do see if it happens while playing a certain game. Try playing a different game for a while and see what happens. well, I'm goign to get some sleep, good luck

Re: A weird computer problem, I need your help
I know that the graphics card is in firmly aswell as other connections. I think i'm going make sure the cpu is in really well tomorrow. I am also installing guildwars to run that and see how that goes. I've noticed it freezes most often when re-conectiong to a counterstrike map. Like if i play and reconect to the same server or a different one..seems to be when it needs to load makes me think its the cpu...Still need help though.

What is the wattage rating of your PSU? And how old is it?
If possible the make and model.

Re: A weird computer problem, I need your help
more than eneough with 350watts, just replaced, skyhawk
I reverted my video card drives to the one supplied by xfxforce.com instead of the one from nVidea, the problem hasn't re-occured yet, but that doesn't mean its fixed...
