First House party
SO the rents are going up north for the weekend, leaving my pretty cool older sister ( 26 ) in charge here for the weekend.. my parents know im having "10" people over but with all the people I hang out with the number has jumped to around 35.. im wondering what tips do you have for party-proofiny my house? Its 3 levels ( like a back split ) downstairs is hardwood.. some tips for that and some tips on what to do about neighboors.. help!

Re: First House party
Simple. Don't have it. Takes care of the liability on your asses, AND, I've always found that the parties I enjoy most are the ones NOT at my house... ya can actually get wild and have fun without having to worry about shit getting broken.

Absolute truth!
But if you must have people over. make it a strick invite list of people you can trust, And any decent looking girls. Make sure your buds have your back about not letting people you don't want there in. And restrict the party to the first floor, or a reasonable area. And last off don't get to drunk yourself, you'll need to keep an eye on things. But all in all you only live once!

Well, making a guess by your previous threads, I'd say yes it will impair you.
If you absolutely are having it at your house, as SgtLazer said, keep it in one area... garages work good because the floor is easy to clean.

I'm with zepfan - a party at my house always goes to shits creek - and you cant enjoy yourself unless you keep everyone outside - but then again the next day you have a mother of a clean up job which just isnt worth the effort.

EVERY single party I ever had at the rents' house, something got broke at, even though it was only maybe 15-20 of my closest friends at the most. Luckily, we're good with superglue, so most of the things got fixed fairly well the next day.

Re: First House party
Simple... keep the music down and have people park somewhere else and carpool to your house to keep the number of cars at your house to a minimum. You could also put sheets over the windows to make it look as thought the house is dark and no one is home.

Re: First House party
Put all of the really expensive, fragile and breakable stuff in a locked room before the party. That way *if* anything does happen they'll be safe. You can put them back on shelves, bookcases, etc. later.
Keep the music down for sure. Make everyone that's outside whisper. Keep people off the carpet as much as possible. Open the windows the next day and keep them open to air the place out...may even run a fan. Enjoy yourself and try not to stress out too much. Your 26 year old sister should know well enough how to proof the house herself.

Re: First House party
I never got caught for my house parties. Just keep 'em relatively sane, loud music and people drinking outside is an absolute nono for most neighborhoods.
if its tomorrow this'll matter,if the party is going down right now, well, tell us how it went.
Make sure there are "offlimits" areas, and put shit you dont want touched in there.
DONT MICROMANAGE YOUR PARTIES. Mine were huge successes because unless somebody was gonna break something or doing something BAD (like trying to pee in a corner) I didn't give a shit what happened.

Re: First House party
it is tomorrow and getting a tad nervous, the whole idea that what if more people show than expected, which is a possiabilty but you gotta understand the people I "run with" are cool.. so ya about 4o people are supposed to show, we have a sun room sort of outside and I am gunna let people out there if they need some air but it is rather cold so I dont think it will be a huge party place.. the kitched and downstairs are the main places.. I am gunna tape off the rooms and such that is offlimits, but everything that could brake even wall pictures in the parents room.... any other hints.. thanks the ones given have been awsome
