Ok last Sat (9/17/05) I go out with my family to this Italian place and shit. So the hostes there is nice looking, has a killer ass on those tight pants. So, later one I drive to that restaurant and tell her that me and my friends are having a pool party this Sat 9/24/2005 and "we are looking for a couple of good looking girls to come with us" (my exact words). I show her pen and paper and ask her straight out "Is there anyway I can contact you?", so I can tell her when and where that party is. She says yeas, gives a number, then I thank her and immediately walk away.

I wait.

I don't want to appear bothersome. So I call her up Thursday night i.e. yesterday and tell her the time and place of the party.

Later I found out that the party was post poned because of the whole Rita thing (by the way I am in DFW, and we don't need to evacuate, but the weather will still be crappy). I call her. She doesn't pick up.

Now. Understand. I wouldn't call her again at all, if it wasn't for that stupid post ponement. And I wouldn't call here again at all if I could just leave a message, but her answering machine said "I don't check my messages often, so you may wanna keep calling back". What would you do if you got a message like this. So I left a message after calling again.

Then I called again, to see if I can catch her. She picked up. I started talking about party postponed blah-blah-blah, I hear suddenly rustling and her muffled voice saying (I THINK!!!) "...he keeps calling me...". Any way, some guy asked "who is this", so I go through the whole met her at the restaurant, invited her to the pool party spill.

He interupts me half way and says "Yeah. Don't talk to her again". I hang up the phone as it became clear to me that she ain't coming.

So... total amount calls - 4

1st - to let her know party time and place.
2nd - to let her know party post poned, no answer.
3rd - leaving a message.
4th - see 2nd and getting her and whoever.

I am furious at myself. I know I stepped into that pile of shit before. If it wasn't for postponement, I would have called her ONLY ONCE and THAT WOULD BE IT. But then again, to my defence, asnwering machine did say that I may want to keep calling. So I "followed instructions" I guess.

I am very much in the same boat. I fuck things up. Even when I stop and think and decide to do something different way, I still screw it up. Now not only she will not go anywhere I tell her, but, as far as she is concerned, I am a stalker.

So, can some one tell me. Was this entirely my fault, or was it just an unfortunate sequence of events? Let me have it.

Like you said, her answering machine said call again. You were obligated to tell her about a change in time. She didn't clue you in to a dude in her life. Sucks but you just gotta move on.

Looking back on my youth (i'm 36 now), if I could go back and do one thing differently, it would be to worry less about any one individual chick, and throw my net out more often, and with less care. Women are more damn attracted to guys who couldn't really give 1/2 a shit about them. I don't hate women at all, mind you. But really, they seem to like the challenge of a guy who isn't so insecure as to freak out if they don't jump at the chance to be with him. Worry less, be yourself more. And just remember, Babe Ruth had more strikeouts than any other player (unsure of the year).

You did no wrong! Remeber it's all her fault. She gave you her number in the first place. She could have just as easy gave you a wrong number, Or told you to beat it.

But no matter what don't obsess. Who care what her and her BF or whoever think.

She was stuck up.. either that or her and her boyfriend were having a spat at the time you picked her up, then within that day or two they got back together.. Who cares, let it pass man, Move on to the next restaurant!
