That could be because they couldnt afford good attorneys, or maybe jurors were biased because they are black. If you are going to try and label one race as being more likely to rape, then there is something else you need to consider. It seems like every latina girl I know was raped or molested by an uncle or other family member but those acts never get reported because no one wants to disgrace the family. Family members commiting sexual violence is common in Asia to so I would not be surprised if it occurs in the asian american community also.

Does anyone know what % of rapes actually get reported? I bet it is some really small % like less than 10%. It would be pretty embarrassing to be the victim especially in a date rape, because the girls know the defense attorney will try to portray them as a slut thus adding insult to injury.

First of all its not MY facts. This stat is from the FBI and the United States Department of Justice. Ever hear of them? People in this country are getting sick of your type of 'Racial McCarthyism'. If a white person simply points out a FACT that shows african-americans in a negitive light they are immediately labeled a racist or a "bigot" by people like you that wish to deny them of their First Amendment Rights. Another thing, people that defend convicted criminals are SCUM just as the conficted criminals are SCUM.

The stat I cited was from a different year than this crime report. For 1995 black males (6% of the population) only commited 42% of all rapes and not 46%. wow what an improvement.

The 1995 FBI Uniform Crime Report
The Report: "The racial distribution of arrestees for rape is similar to the racial distribution for all violent UCR arrests--56% of arrestees for rape in 1995 were "white," 42% were Black, and 2% were of other races."

Please explain how this data could be flawed. The Department of Justice can simply look at conviction records and see who is currently in prision for what. A few key strokes on the computer and it shows 42% of inmates serving time for rape are african-american. Thats a fact, theres no way around it. Now we have to look at how did they get in prision. Most rape convictions are based on eye witness testimony or DNA evidence. According to you the data is flawed, does that mean the rape victim lied about the race of her attacker?
Its people like you, analvirus, that cause women not to report rapes. If they know they are going to be called a liar and persecuted.

As far as your comment about being "easier to convict a black male due to social/economic reasons." I think you are forgetting one small fact. There are far more poor white people in this country than poor black people. With 80% of the population being white and 12% being black its not hard to do the math.

I find it hard to belive that 14 percent of the pop. commits nearly half of the rapes. Period. Unreported, YES! probably a lotta women don't report rapes. Due to persecution? You are nuts. What, .0010% may get media attention? most have to do with the peers, and circumstances. If I were on a jury and all the evidence pointed to the defendent I would vote to convict without reguard to the persons race. I think you're the one with whom race plays a part. It's obvious you think african-americans can do no wrong.

Ok, so you don't believe a small segment of the population commits almost half of all crime. Some people don't believe we went to the moon. It's your choice to believe what you want to believe, and its my right to point out the facts whenever and wherever I choose. Its also my right to keep pointing out the facts as often as I choose.

I didn't say 80% of whites are poor. What I said was whites make up 80% of the total population and blacks make up 12%. I also stated that there are far more poor whites than poor blacks. Why is that so hard to understand? Whites make up the majority of the total population and the majority of the poor. simple.
