Re: I have no idea what is wrong PLZ HELP
Ok...sounds easy...but that I'm not originaly from U.S., please use another word for "clunking" sound.
Could it be something with your FANS? (look especially your power supply unit-PSU). I think when it freezes and makes a sound, it will be most probably your PSU or your Harddisk.
Listen carefuly from where the noise exactly comes and if youre a child of the sun, just that piece has to be replaced. :happycow:

Yep to both of the above, its either a fan or your hardrive. Start praying its a fan.

Re: I have no idea what is wrong PLZ HELP
If it's a clunk, It's gotta be your hard drive. I've lost a few myself. Backup if you haven't, and look for a new one. If it was a fan, it would be more of a click, or maybe a grind, and as it got hotter, it would start to hum louder and louder.
Good luck.

Re: I have no idea what is wrong PLZ HELP
I've had the same sounds come from mine. No the problem didn't go away and yes it costed me a HDD. If the Drive is older than 3-5 years then there is a very high probabiltity that is is the problem. Lets say anything under 20GB is now getting to be suspect in the age department.
Most modern PSU's dont use a mechanical relay anymore for switching so very unlikely that it's your PSU. If you take the side cover off your tower then you might be able to hear better where the "clunking" comes from.
Like said above, it's very unlikely though not imposible to be a fan. Depends what you mean by clunking. Bearingless fans will never clunk, they're plastic and plastic has an inability to clunk... Same with fans with nylon bearings(for those of you lucky enough to be able to afford them )
So best bet is to back up where you can and get another drive. Probably best not to ghost your old drive onto the new one. That could cause data problems further down the track.
All the best...Have fun tracking down your problem
