Re: AoE 3
a few new graphics?
Psshh... Compare the graphics to aoe 2 and 1 and you'll see a big difference.
As for it working only on XP, XP is the OS that is being used mostly on windows systems, I don't see a point in them trying to go back and make it compatable with 2000, ME(anyone even still use that peice of shit), etc.
BUT, you'll be able to play it on Linux after sometime it comes out, GNOME guys, GNOME...
I'm qutie impressed though it leaves me wanting more, more AI's to fight, more multiplayer maps, more campaign maps.
But keep in mind, its a fucking demo, its only a small fraction of the true game.

Re: AoE 3
I thought they had abandoned the Age of Empires line after they made Age of Mythlology. Good to hear they are making another. Age of Empires still remains one of my favorite PC games of all time.
What theme are they going to use for it? Medieval? Mythology? Futuristic (cringe)?

Re: AoE 3
Aoe 3 takes place during the Colonial times to the pre industrial or industrial era. I'm assuming that AOE 4, if ES plans on making one, will take place from where aoe 3 left off to present day with even more kick ass graphics and gameplay.

Re: AoE 3
Demo was alright. Graphics were good, pace was a little slow, that's probably coz I'm more used to faster RTS games like Warhammer & Warcraft. Will wait for final reviews before deciding. AoM seemed better.

Re: AoE 3
I'm looking forward to it. I remember spending hours playing aoe 2. And I'm used to the slower pace of it.

I didn't know the demo was out, so thanks for the heads up. I'll get back to you with thoughts after a few hours trying it out.
I really want a new rts set making an empire in the West Indies in the 17th and 18 century. Pirates and shit. would be awesome.
I love pirates.
