so my girlfriend complained that it was hurting her the first time i fingered her. why was it hurting, is it normal, and how can i avoid it next time?

-You were too rough
-She is a virgin
-Your nails were too long/had rough corners
-She was tense
-You were going in at a bad angle and was scraping/bumping against soft tissue
-Too many fingers... and remember guys' fingers are usually bigger than girls' fingers

Lots of things to consider, remember to go slow and be considerate of her comfort level. If it is recurring pain, there's bleeding or some weird discharge, go to the doctor.

And alot of times us guys just think a girl wants us to shove our finger in there and that makes them feel good......this is not the case. what helped me was asking your girl to teach you how to do it the way she likes. you would be suprised how much you can learn

1. trim and file your nails. Biggest mood killer there is.
2. Yes in the movies three fingers and a bowling pin are normal, not in real life.
3. Try more around in front and save "going deep" for later.
