Not sure if I'm going to get an answer on this or not, but...

I am now working with Final Cut Pro HD and am pretty close to upgrading from my Sony VX-1000 to the Sony FDRVX1 HD, which will shoot 1080i HD quality (prosumer of course) video.

My question is, is if I shoot on HD and edit within Final Cut HD, do I have the ability to include older DV clips with the HD clips?

And I guess in addition to this question, if I shoot and edit in HD, does final cut allow exporting to DV NTSC?

I'm shooting a sales video and will be creating the DVD in DVD Studio Pro. I want to be sure that it will be able to be viewed by current customers & potential customers.

I know the FDRVX1 camera allows to toggle between HD and DV. But wanted to see if even though I shoot HD, I can view it on a regular television monitor?!

Re: Final Cut Pro HD Import/Export HD/DV

yes you can really whats gonna end up happening is you are gonna setup your sequence and capture settings so that you down convert your HD footage to DV NTSC mode. If you want to use older DV footage. So that way your dv footage will look good and your HD footage will still look good too. (double check with the website below make sure im right)
