So I downloaded a cracked copy of Real Player (version 10) and now it fucking thinks its god and opens all of my files....I HATE PUSHY PROGRAMS. I like ot play my music on windows media player...I use winamp for when I need to, but I want to set my default player to be windows media player. I right click the files and to the open with and check the always open with this....then a few minutes later after i open another file, its back to open with real.....

Any help?

Realplayer is a bollix when it comes to stealing file associations.

Have you tried totally removing the entry for MP3 Playlists in Folder Options -> File Types?
Hi-lite the entry & click Remove.

This will unregister the xpl extension & should just leave "Winamp Playlist File" (m3u pls) listed as the default. Naturally you need to make sure that m3u & pls are selected in Winamp Prefs -> FileTypes. Also checkmark "Register Files on Winamp start"
First, you should also make sure you have removed all checkmarks in RealPlayer -> Prefs -> Upgrade tab -> Re-Associate & Auto Restore Settings.

With above settings intact, close then re-open Winamp for the changes to take effect.

If this doesn't work, then I'm afraid that the only other solution is to edit the Registry
