I agree 110 percent. I think it had nothing to do with the team. Well, maybe a tad, but all in all....it was all for his own glory.

And!?!? that just shows that he has absolutely no idea of the concept of team. Would you want a guy on your team that has one great year then becomes a cancer to your organization.....or a guy that comes in thier and puts his ass on the line day in and day out for the sake of the team??

Give me Mcaffrey, Harrison, Heinz, hell give me Korean Robinson......I'm tired of T.O.'s shit. If you dont like the contract put the fucking pen down you fucking baby.

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

I think the Eagles would have like to win a Superbowl. Terrell Owens didn't have 1 good year, he's been a top receiver every year. The more and more I think about it, the more I see things on Terrell's side. Shit... that contract DOES undermine his value. And I believe the team is shitin' it, and wishes that none of this happened. It's silly pride, on both sides. And you Eagles fans, it's the saaaaaaame way.

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

Like I said before...in the football world, yes Owens deserves more money. But in the real world, someone who complains that they aren't making enough millions is laughable. He knew coming in to this team what the Eagles were about. They just don't budge on Contract negotiations. He accepted that. His agent at the time told him it wasn't that great of deal. He accepted that. He said that coming to the Eagles meant a fresh start for a new and improved T.O. Looks like that meant only for one year.

Why call out your QB?? Why call out other players. If he wants to go to a team like the Browns, have at it T.O. See if you get the numbers and the attention that you got in Philly. See if you get the endorsment deals that you never got in San Fran.

He aint starving, his family aint starving and his peice of shit agent aint starving. Time to quit being so selfish and play some fucking football.

Hell, there's plenty of players that would have done that. I recall Marino coming back the next season after tearing his Achilles tendon... an injury that should have forced him to retire. Jim Brown finished playing a game that he broke his leg in. There has been, and will continue to be, real players out there that will fulfill their obligations, just as there will always be these whiny primadonnas. I say fuck him... the Eagles will do fine without him.

I wonder though, if all these tantrums are caused by all those years living under Rice's shadow with the 49ers? :happycow: T.O. nowhere near the best in the league... he never has been and never will be, because, as kornut pointed out the NFL is not golf. It takes ability and dedication to be a true great.

First, I think comparing T.O.'s comback to Marino or Jim Brown does more to prove my point. But a better comparison would be Willis Reeds comback during Game 7 of the NBA Finals for the Knicks. Either way, the main point being he returned early from his injury which would heal properly if he just sat out for one more game. Instead he risked his whole career which I thought was assine.

Second, you're delusional if you don't see the importance of this season for the Eagles. If they don't make it back to the Superbowl without T.O., their run is over. They don't want to re-up him, don't want to trade him, and definitely don't want to waive him. If they falter this year, other free agents will avoid Philly like the plague because other players and agents will view the Eagles' mgmt. as "not willing to do what it takes to win". They might even lose some of their veterans because they want to play for a contender. This season could be viewed as the Eagles' downward turn.

I highly doubt that whatever happens with Owens will affect whether or not veterans already playing for the Eagles will stay. He's been trash talking McNabb, who as QB is supposed to be the leader of the team, since shortly after the Superbowl. I can't imagine many Eagles players really are tremendously eager to play with him after showing how self centered and arrogant he truly can be. Personally, if I was an NFL player, I would rather play for the Eagles if they tell Owens to go fuck himself than if they cave in.

It's like that one lazy, bitchy guy at work that for some reason management puts up with. Everyone has (at least) one at work. Just think about how much better your job would be without him... Owens is the Eagles' equivalent.

But the way the owners deal with Owen will. They have two options that will give them something in return....pay him or trade him. If they do nothing and sit on their hands and T.O. sabotages their season, everyone in the league will look at it as "the Eagles mgmt. won't do what it takes to win".

I remember the Patriots going through something similiar with Terry Glenn. They handled it they right way for that situation, and I think player and agents across the league stood up and took notice.

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

Wow, by the tone of this thread, Owens has actually made what Ricky Williams did to his teammates last year look honorable. At least Ricky was honest and somewhat stand-uppish about it. And he didn't have a cancerous growth sitting next to him all the time.
Meanwhile, Owens has more than just his teammates spiting on the ground he walks on.

This link is an open letter to T.O. Funny stuff.

Yeah... As a Dolphins fan, I hate Ricky Williams right about now, but at least he just did what he claimed he needed to do without making a circus of it, so i guess it's slightly more respectable.

That open letter thing is f'in hilariousl though... and prolly repworthy. :happycow:

Judging from that statement, you would be one of those 3rd-line aging veterans making league minimum. Face it, Terrell is a superstar. Although he's not much of a role-model, you can't blame him for wanting more money. And its true, Eagles management can be looked at in 2 ways:

a fans prospective is that they are doing the right thing.

but this isn't going to lure anymore star players to sign on their dotted lines. :wiggle:
