He's in the process of assholing' himself out of the league

As long as he is one of the 3 best WR's in the league he can talk as much shit as he wants...some team will take him. BELIEVE THAT!

Quote:
He should honor his word. He should play like he said he would for the money (more then any of us will ever see) he signed for.

Last I saw he was honoring his commitment. His agent tried to re-up his contract and the owner wouldn't even hear it. Don't make it personal or about what we get paid, but look at what his market value is. The fact is that he had a terrible agent last season and Owens is putting up franchise numbers. I'm not saying give him the bank...just make him happy.

Here...check this shit out:

http://asp.usatoday.com/sports/foot...tion.aspx?pos=4

His base salary is only $660,000 and he has a 7 year contract. Maybe later in the contract he gets bigger numbers, but if he gets hurt....he doesn't get paid! The NFL is the only league that doesn't have guaranteed contracts. So if a guy is willing to put his career on the line to play in the franchises biggest game in more than 20 years, and sign a waiver releasing the franchise from any liability....I'm just saying at the very least sit down with his agent and talk.

Hell, there are only a handful of bigtime players who would have done what TO did at the end of the season. Name a player with any worth and a promising career that would have returned from that injury just play in the Bowl.

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

Let me give you some insight from a Eagle Fanatic.

What T.O. did last year was absolutetly amazing on all aspects. From pre-season to the Superbowl. Do I think he deserves more money?? Well, in a perfect world nobody playing a game for a living would ever make that much. But I don't run the world. So yes....he does deserve more money.

However, and this is a huge however.....did he go about the contract regotionation in the right way??? Absolutely not. First off, he signed on the dotted line one year ago. Period. Bad agent, good agent, whatever. You made a agreement. Deal with it. So you outplyed your contract....bullshit. You give 100 percent whether you make league min, or multi millions. You do it for your team, our teamates, and the fans. WE are the only reason your ass is a millionaire in the first place. Not because you can catch a fucking football. But because we follow with passion and loyalty we give you our hard earned money to "take care of your family".

If I can take care of my family making under 75,000 a year, I know full well that your family aint starving. So cut the crap.

Next he called out his teamate and talked shit about him. Why?? Do you think Donovan has anything to do with Philly's desicion?? No. So you crossed a line, a unwritten rule in football to keep business business, and everything else in private.

So he goes on and says....I'm holding out from Camp. Then realizes.....shit!!! I won't be making money. So, I retract my statment and will be at camp because thats how I roll. I'm coming he says.....but I won't be happy. The Eagles didn't budge so you broke. Oh fucking well. Don't sign your name if you don't like the deal. Simple.

Now, he doesn't interact with teamates on the practice field. Hugh Douglas reaches out to him, he blows him off. But later says, he has no hard feelings against any of his teamates. Hmmmm, if I remeber correctly today you stated that you have nothing to say to Donovan. McNabb has never drug Owens in the dirt over this, nor has he brought anything public.

So then comes Wed. T.O. is healthy enough to practice on a completly seperate field than his teamates but when asked why he doesn't join his team he blows up and acts like a 12 year old.

Here's my point. This isn't golf. This is a team game. Why the hell would a organization put forth the money for a guy who obviously has little or no team concept when it comes to his own sacrifice.

If the T.O. that rehabed and showed up to the Superbowl would have walked the line of a team player, and minded his X's and O's. He just might have gotten what he deserved.

This isn't the first team he's pulled this shit with....and it won't be the last. Owens, you are not bigger than the team, nor the game.

For fucks sake, trade the crybaby to Pitt for Ward. Hell, trade him to Denver for Rice.....even the greatest ever said T.O. is wrong.

That is just hearsay. The Eagles Org denies this happening and at this point I would trust their word over the word of Owens.

But that is pointless anyway. It was Owens and only Owens desicion to play that game. The Eagles were prepared with or without him.

We'll see. I'm sure there is some crack reporter trying to break this story. Somebody usually talks.

HOLY shit what a difference! If TO is gone, then there is no way in hell the Eagles are going to make it this season. (Lewis is the man, though.)Though McNabb isn't the jerk in this issue, he's also not the most valuable.

I think people tend to forget that the Eagles made it to the NFC Championship game three years in a row without T.O.

Owens is acting like a petulant little kid, and the Eagles did what needed to be done. Bravo the Eagles organization.

McNabb = Choke

2002 NFC Championship game vs St. Louis: McNabb throws an interception on their last drive

2003 NFC Campionship game vs Tampa Bay: McNabb and the Eagles blow an early lead by not completing any passes or gaining any yards for that matter.

Conclusion: Last year was the last chance for Donovan to win a ring. But he decided to place the championship ring in the form of a football into the hands of Rodney Harrison in the end.

Believe me, I was rooting for the Eagles. But if you ask anyone, Tom Brady is just that much more trustworthy in the clutch.

ps.
Owens is a prick

Did Elway play through an injury that could have ended his career to lead his team in the playoffs or Superbowl? In all seriousness I might have missed it because I didn't watch a lot of football in the '90's.

K-nut, I personally don't like T.O., but what happens if they bench T.O. and they don't at least make the NFC Championship? I think it would be the end of their run as a contender. I only feel it's in the best interest of the franchise for the management to quit taking hardline and just fix the problem. Hell, what am I worried about the Eagles for? The Panthers are gonna kick their ass anyway:happycow:

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

Seeing and hearing about this whole preseason situation, it's really hard to believe that T.O. came back from injury to play in the Superbowl as a sacrifice... for the good of the team.

He wanted to play in the Superbowl for one reason and one reason only: So that Terrell Owens could play on the biggest stage available for Terrell Owens, to show what Terrell Owens could do in a Superbowl.

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

Was he really on ESPN Thursday night talking about his "horrible" contract?... a contract that can pay him $49Million dollars over 7 years?

Frankly, if it was such a bad contract, why did he sign it?

Sounds like he's been acting like a 12-year-old in camp.
Sounds like he's acting like a 12-year-old with his money, too. He was thrilled daddy gave him a $20 a week allowance..... 'til he found out that someone else gets $25.

Re: Owens leaves camp!!

I'm so sick and tired of T.O. If the media would just stop covering his antics, he'd probably do something outrageous enough to get attention, that'd he's land himself in prison, and we wouldn't have to worry about his selfish-ass anymore.

When you lie to people during halftime of a nationally televised football game, that ain't gonna gain you too much support...

Man, what a cockbite.
