Re: NBA predictions 2006
I think Miami will be in or close to the finals, even if Shaq does miss alot of the regular season, which I do not think will happen, they will be there for the East. I am a westy, so I don't care about the other's.
West - Lakers will improve rgeatly, with Kobe leading them, as well as shareing the ball more.
Carmelo will improve GREATLY, after the the year with Karl. Nuggets will move up into the middle of the rankings/Playoffs. Maybe even win a 2st round.
Spurs will play great still. They have a great nucleaus. Boring or not, they are good.
I will watch about 15-20% of the regular season and 50%+ of the playoffs. Too many games for me to watch.
Finally - Go Nuggets!!! :happycow:

Re: NBA predictions 2006
The NBA has nothing on college basketball...but maybe thats because I have the luxury of ACC basketball so close.
San Antonio wins it over Miami.
WC Finals: SA over Phoenix
EC Finals: Miami over Chicago
NBA MVP: Lebron
ROY: Rashad McCants (sadly, cause he's a cock)

Hey you guys can try for Yao Ming in 2011 http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?id=2147660
btw Kobe>T-mac at ball hogging. (sorry this took so long to answer)
Well as the spurs got both Van exel and Mfinely apparently: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2128722 with a backcourt of Bowen, Exel, Parker, Ginobli and Mfinley (no to mention Udrih and barry) um... well.. .yeah, i think they're going to win now.

Re: NBA predictions 2006
The best the Lakers can be would be in the Phoenix Suns mold, but they don't have the great passer, nor a dominant center. Probably all they can do is run and maybe do a little better than last year.
I'm hoping Spurs self combust with all those egos that need to be meshed.

Chris Paul is Rookie of the Year (16ppg, 7ast, 2steals)

Aren't I comming pretty close?? Of course, I took out that little bit on the Lakers winning it all... but check out my rookie pick. Chris Paul, damn near right on the button with his contribution and stats. Same goes to Bogut. Any of you guys out there who doubted Bogut could put up those numbers are regretting it now. Oh yeah, Shaq is INJURED. Big surprise. My numbers for Lamar Odom are holding off... he's at 17ppg/11rb/6asst as of today. And KOBE leading his team with that buzzer beater and 4 qtr heroics... he's 36ppg!! Definitely the MVP of the league after the first week.

Re: NBA predictions 2006
I'm a spurs fan here. i think after adding finley and van exel, they got more offense, but not much defense. oberto was a nice pickup as well for a big man. i think they might have too much stars. remember dallas a couple years back? Dirk, Walker, Jamison, Nash, Finley all on the same team. They made the playoffs, but didnt win the championship. it's the same situation with miami. they got walker, payton, and posey off the bench. this season's gonna be great.
I think Dwight Howard will be in the top 10 for MVP running cause he's showing improvement. LBJ might have a chance for MVP if Cavs make it to the East Finals. with hughes and jones, they might end up winning it. it's too soon to tell.
the lakers might make the playoffs, but one coach doesnt change everything. larry brown's in the knicks, and they're doing horribly. it's the players that matter. coaching matters a little, but not as much.
PREDICTIONS
EAST FINALS: Miami over Indiana
WEST FINALS: Spurs over Suns (again)
Champions: MY SPURS!
