but lets talk preseason
college basketball.
I have to start off with my boys in blue. The university of Kentucky wildcats. They have 2 probably 3(Morris, if he is allowed) returning starters. Chuck Hayes and kellena azibuike* left big holes to fill but the line will again be impressive.
At point guard: Rajon Rondo. This young man has unbeleivable speed and ball handling skills. He recently made the USA team for the under 21 world championships (congrats to him). Needs to work on his jump shot inside and beyond the arc. He loves to drive to the basket and cannot not be stopped when he does. Teams without man child dominant big men ex:(glen bass, LSU) will have fits with him.
At two guard: Patrick Sparks. Senior, leadership is a key factor he will bring to the table. Can play point, but is better with rondo dishing out the passes and letting him get open. Shooting is his strong key. When he is hitting shots he could be considered one of the best
college shooters in the nation. Kentucky will need him to be more of a consistent shooter if the wanna have run at the title.
At strong foward: Joe Cawford. Was a McDonald's AA coming out of high school, but couldnt really show his stuff due to azibuike*. This year he will hopefully have the mindset that he has somthing he needs to prove, and give the fans somthing to cheer about.
At power forward: Rekalin Sims/Sheray Thomas. Sims is a juco transfer and was a junior
college AA. Hard to find alot of info on his playing style, rumored to be a beast on the boards. Thomas was out most of last season, due to medical reasons. Lost a tremendous amount of weight, but it seemd that he has put that back on the muscle. This will be a interesting battle for playing time.
And at center: randolph morris, woo orbuzut, shergari alleyne. Honestly due to Randolph leaving aburptly without telling anyone, for the draft, then informing head coach Tubby Smith by fax. There is no telling how the team feels about him coming back. Orbuzut and Alleyne stayed on campus all summer to improve there game which should entitle them to a starting spot but there isnt any guareentees.
Reserves:
PG's: Ramel Bradley (great game attitude and amazing shooting ability but well never be able to show it as long as rondo is in the picture)
Brandon Stockton (career backup unfortuntly, showed lots of promise in high school)
SG's: Ravi Moss (greatest best clutch shooting 6 man in the nation)
Preston Lemaster (another no-show in college)
SF's: Bobby Perry (still hasn't got his touch just yet. but could defintly be a impact player for the cats)
Adam Willams (new recruit, spent one year at img academy before coming to kentucky, cant say much about him just yet but how knows)
PF's: Thomas/Sims which ever doesnt start
C's: Morris/Orbuzut/Alleyne?
Jared Carter (Young hometown 7 footer with alot to prove, probably redshirt this year.
Have more but im out of time.
