Can't open a .avi file...
Ok, I'm a dope, I'll readily admit it.
I've got Windows Media (I think its 9) player and Real Player...but these types of files won't open. Its all on Windows XP...any help?

Re: Can't open a .avi file...
When processing an AVI file, Realplayer needs a specific dll. called vidplin.dll
You can also use VirtualDub to convert the AVI to Divx.
You can also check out Codec Zone ( google it ), They have a list of resources which can sort a lot of these problems out.

Re: Can't open a .avi file...
Download Gspot <click here>
Open the file in Gspot and it'll tell you what audio and video codecs are used and if you have them installed or not.
