try nero express 3 ... burn your dvd to an image (save on your laptop) then use nero burning rom to burn that image to disk.... you only need one drive this way

Re: dvd copying with one drive

If you mean DVD movies, you'll really want to use DVD Decryptor first then DVD Shrink to compress the movie to fit onto a DVDR.

Making an image of the DVD, as shanetasha suggest, most of the time just isn't going to work. Most DVD movies are 6-7GB and standard DVDRs are only 4.4GB. You should need a DVD burner than can burn dual-layer DVDs plus a DVDR that is dual-layer.
The DVD DL burners are easy to find, well for desktop PCs I'm not sure about laptops, but DL disc are a bit harder and what there are of them they ain't cheap. You can get 100 DVDRs for around $30 at newegg.com, but DVDR DL disc can cost up to $100 for a pack of 20 again at newegg.com...and both are spindle cake box packs.
