I love file sharing!! Yet i do not know all the file-sharing networks that are on the net.
Could you guys post the file-sharing networks that you know of on the internet and what you think about them
I know of the following:

Morpheous
Kazaa
Gnutella

I want to see if there is anything else out there that i can use other than virus-prone kazaa.

Its ridiculous how many viruses are floating around within Kazaa.

I use WinMX exclusively. I've got just about 1000 files that I'm sharing. WinMX rules!

USE KAZAA LITE!!!!!! i have posted in this forum before about the benefits of using kazaa lite. the new version has security updates that do not let people ssee the files you are sharing, while still sharing them. i dont know if this keeps you from getting sued, but it sounds nifty. no adware. no spyware. very light on resources. allows jumping supernodes, auto refresh (no "more sources needed" messages), and lots of way cool stuff that regualr kazaa doesnt have.

You can't use the WinMX peer networking protocls anymore. You have to download and install a list of OpenNap Protocol High Capacity Networks.

In laymans terms -- you just have to download and install a group of high capacity networks and connet those instead of the WinMX network ( that is if you are using v. 2.6 which I recommend ... seeing as how the setup for 3.1 and above is a pain in the ass ).

I just did a quick search and couldn't find anywhere to download the actual WinMX 2.6 program. I was able to download a list of current OpenNap servers, but I have no idea how to import them to v2.6. I guess I'm glad that I fixed the problem a long time ago. v2.6 is WAY out of the loop but it still works like a charm for me. If I ever have to reinstall this program, it looks like I'll have to use something else. Here's a WinMX forum:

They could probably answer any questions for you. I don't know if you are happy with Kazaa, but this may make a difference for you.

I use Limewire - works well until the bastards in my IT dept. put up a firewall stopping all external file sharing on from our server. Blows ass because we have fiber.

Question about sharing

When I download songs from others, they always say I don't share files then cut me off. Or the download stops suddenly. Y is that?? I got plenty of songs in my shared folder........

Re: Please share all File-sharing websites

anyone remember using aimster. it was really lame but it was novel. i dunno im bored and i thought i would post. in response to the winmx problem, if you install the new client then you can connect. i think they disable the autoconnect on all older versions when the new version comes out so thaqt you have to update your software. im not sure but i think thats the way it works.

Re: Please share all File-sharing websites

WinMX has a very extensive range of files.
However the amount of files that have huge queues often makes downloading a real hassle.
