Will this work together?
Will this motherboard...
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard -Retail Model #: A8N-SLI Deluxe
Work with this video card??
POWERCOLOR R41AB-ND3 Radeon X700 256MB DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail Model #: R41AB-ND3
I want to know if both my choices of video card will work with this motherboard or if you'd recommend something else. [especially since the BFG tech is GDDR3 ram]
Also, I want to know if I have to buy a seperate video card even if i purchase the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 500 MCE White box PCI Interface WinTV-PVR-500MCE Windows XP Media Center Edition

Re: Will this work together?
Yes but want's the point of buying a SLI mobo if you're going to get an ATI card which doesn't support SLI?
Either get an ASUS that has a single PCIE slot or get a SLI combatible nVidia card like the 6600 line, 6800 line or the new 7800 line, get one now and the second a little later.
About the Hauppauge question; you lost me for a bit.
Basicly you're looking to get this, right? If so, then that card and some third-party TV tuner software is all you really need. It's a capture card, not a VGA card.

Re: Will this work together?
I just need to make one suggestion. Even though you can put a lot of RAM in it, don't use more than a gig if you're running windows. It doesn't recognize it. If you run mac or linux, go for it.

Re: Will this work together?
You know I've heard so much BS over the years saying that this version of Windows only recognizes X-amount of RAM, then this other version of Windows recognize this amount of RAM.
Someone told me once that Win98 (non-SE) can only recognize 128MB, then some told me 256MB, and yet I ran Win98 with 512MBs and it recognized it all. Which isn't a surprise since Win3.1 has it's limitation is 256MB or 512MB; better explained at MS Knowledge Base.
WinXP CAN RECOGNIZE MORE THAN 1GB!!!! In fact XP can recognize 4GB of RAM.
Are you seriously going to sit there and tell me, and everyone else, that after so many other generations of the Windows OS that the limit as moved from 512MB to 1GB?
If Win Pro for 64-bit can support up to 16GB of RAM, XP has to be around 4-8GB
Next you'll tell us that XP's file size limit is 4GB.

Re: Will this work together?
games aren't coded to take advantage of more than 1.0gb of ram, so you won't see much performance gain going for more than that. if you're running a server, databasing, encoding etc then you will.
also like the dude said, why waste money on an sli board when ur sticking a non sli capable video card on it.
