Actually Chavez's professional record was 103-6-2 with 82 or 83 by way of K.O.
(Although these numbers change regularly...seems nobody really knows his real record).



Rocky Marciano retired on top. He is the only world champion to retire without a loss. Only problem was he only fought 49 times. But won all 49 bouts.

I've heard many of those bouts were just fallguys. He was great, but that clouds his legacy for me.

I go with Ali. Hell, his best years were wasted because of politics. Dealing with that outside adversity adds to his legacy. Nobody could have beat him in his prime...Not even Tyson at 21 or 22.

Newsflash.....every fighter at one time or another fights a "fallguy". Boxing is the dirtiest, lowest and downright most decieving sport in the world. Just nobody wants to admit it nor believe it.

True dat. I was alluding to most of those overmatched opponents being told the outcome before the bout.

Nah...I dunno. Tyson at 21 vs. Ali circa '66? Ali fought 6 title bout in less than a year, and that's after he KO'd Liston. He was running threw challengers like Ex-Lax. Ali wasn't just fast, but big and could take a beating! For Tyson I'd say it would look a lot like the same asswhoopin' Lennox Lewis put on him.

Chavez is one of the greatest, but he was in a different class. He did have power and speed, and toughness.
Ali in his Prime had every tool, power, speed, toughness, mouth. He was great
Tyson in his prime was great. He just beat the fuck out of people.
ROcky was great too, in his day.
Each of these guys has different styles.

But if it came down to it - Ali. He would get beat to shit by Tyson, but would hold on and win late in the fight. It would be a bloody Mofo!!!
