MOVIES - Theater & DVD
i noticed that the new member thread kinda turned into a movie thread - so i started this one
lets see if anyone tacks on
im gonna start by listing some of my favorite movies
i love al pacino so hes in most of my favorite movies
i dont especially like scarface though, i just kinda think his character was limited in that movie
id have to say my favorite pacino movie is Carlito's Way
That movie fooken rules.
I love the way hes torn between the life he knows and the one he wants to start. If you havent seen this, rent it, buy it, download it, something. Its a MUST-SEE!!

It's a shame that Al went from being one of the most repected actors, to being considered an over-actor.
I personally enjoyed his performances in both Insomnia and Devil's Advocate(Despite Keantactu Reams), and both are generally frowned upon, or overlooked.
I'm not big on any gangster/cop type movies, which seems to be his favorite genres. However, I do like his acting quite a bit.
My 2 favorite actors are Edward Norton and Gary Oldman. They are Chameleons, and are consistently superb, even if the movie they are in sucks (i.e Hannibal,Death To Smoochy)
HOWEVER, they both also pick amazing movies too, such as Fight Club(best movie made, EVER), American History X, Leon the Professional, True Romance, etc.

i like ed norton myself.. hes a very impressive actor. i love the way he beefed up for AHX. he was scary lookin in that movie.
in al's defense - another of my favorites by him is Scent of a Woman. where he plays a blind ex-military badass with a plan to committ suicide.
another MUST-SEE.

I love Scent.
Many Critics claim that Al became an over-actor after that movie.
I disagree, but it is funny that he says "Hoo-ha!" about 23 times per movie.

braveheart is ok for what it is - but once you see it a couple of times it gets kinda blah - mel gibson is good tho - ever seen that movie where he cameos at a concert and hes all pierced and tatood - that was funny - its a billy crystal/robin williams movie - i think its called fathers day...
