AMD Athlon 64 3200+
OK, I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop and ive been told to get one with an AMD Athlon 64 processor as it is the best for gaming. Ive found one with an Athlon 64 3200+. However, it only runs an 2.0ghz. And while this is fast enough to play the most of the latest games atm, i dont know how long it will last. I know it is a very good processor but what i want to know is, will it be able to play future games as i want it to last a while!! Advice would be apreciated muchly :happycow:

Re: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Even though it runs at only 2 ghz, the way its designed makes it run as fast as a comparable 3.2 ghz Pentium proc.

Re: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
it may run at 2.0ghz but the processor is a 64bit meaning it runs a lot faster than 2.0ghz 32bit. There is nothing wrong with a gaming laptop just make sure you get the best video card and atleast 1 gig of ram. You will never see the same amount of performance that you would from a desktop with similar settings though.

Re: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
i concur with rizzo. nothing beats a desktop on gaming. but if you do get one load it with ram and make sure it has a dedicated videocard instead of an onboard.
