Webrats guys and pets
Pretty quiet in here lately, boys.
I'd love to see you guys with your pets. Kitties, puppies, whatever you have.

Re: Webrats guys and pets
OK, I tried (really) to get a picture on me and my cat together, but cat + camera = supper squirmy cat and large belly scratches. Anyway, after 3 tries, heres the best one.
Sadly it captures none of my cat's personality since she's in panic/escape mode.

Re: Webrats guys and pets
Hehehehe!! She looks a lot like my kitties. And yes, definitely waiting for you to let go so she can bolt!
Sorry about your tummy scratches!! But you two look really cute.
"It's okay, juuuuuuust holllllllld still for a couple more seconds so I can get a half decent pic of you and me...."
"Reeeeowwwwr...What the hell do I care about having my picture taken for some strange chick on the internet? You're ruffling my fur. I damn well better get treats after this, mister!"

Holy Crap, Woogie. You have my respect now, for sure. My usually cuddly cat took one look at the camera and said, "WTF!!".
Here is my cat, who was NOT happy with the picture taking event.

Re: Webrats guys and pets
After my initial attempt to just pick Raisin up, snap off a couple pictures of Her Royal Fatness, and be done with it ended in miserable failure this afternoon (it was like trying to keep a one-handed grasp on a squishy, malleable wad of razor claws and kicking limbs; not a simple task, even without the added complication of trying to take photos of the whole assbackwards debacle), I decided to let bygones be for a while.
Finally, two hours and about ten CatSnax later, all was well enough that Crabass The Wonder Cat would allow my presence in the same room with her again.
A different, somewhat less-hands-on approach was in order.
What follows are two of the cutest pictures I think I've ever taken of Raisin - no mean statement, considering how ridiculously cute this cat is. Even with the Pissface™ on, she's still too fucking adorable, as seen in this priceless example from several months ago:
http://216.92.253.140/images/Dan/mauskat2.jpg
The first of today's pictures is affectionately entitled "Pay No Attention To The Moron Behind The Cat", which, given the totally dismissive look on Raisin's face, I think pretty well sums up the scene:
And secondly, I give you "Grudging Acceptance".
Sometimes you've just gotta suck it up and take a smooch on the head, y'know?
Especially when it's coming from the dude who fills your food bowl:

Actually, no; that's a tumor growing out of Raisin's back.
Several veterinarians have inspected it, and the consensus is unanimous in favor of leaving it there, as it appears to be benign and at her age, the anesthetic required to put her under for a surgical operation is just way too risky.
...Plus, I can stick her tail in an electrical socket and the damned thing lights up!
Too cool!
(Yes, it's a lava lamp. A souvenir from my last trip out to California to visit my sister, circa 1997-ish. I've since decided that lava lamps aren't as excellently awesome as I thought they were when I was 17 - I'd rather take a light bright enough to actually read by - but it's got sentimental value. Plus, it does make a handy nightlamp, so as to keep me from stubbing my toes on the bed's legs.)
