I want a Motorcycle. I'm dumb, encourage me.
Since I don't know how to ride I want to start off slow. I was thinking about buying bike.. because I got nothing else to do. I'm 20 and I live at home and I got money building up, and I want to do something with it besides save it.. and I figured buying a bike would be a good idea.
I've been throwing the idea around for like a year now and I still want one even after all the awesome motorcycle accident stories I keep hearing. Even a cool one about my friends Dad going through a windshield.
Yeah so I've been weighin some stuff around... looks like I can afford a bike pretty easily. I've calculated payments and did insurance and all that.
I was looking at a Kawasaki Ninja 250 since its a small ass bike, and won't be a complete drag to ride..
it also comes in gay colors like Lime green and blinding I'm a fag yellow. We all Know KC is a fan of these colors..
Anyone rode a little 250 ninja? How bad do they suck?

NO.
NO NO NO.
NO NO NO. NO NO NO NO.
I cannot emphasize (or something) this enough. If you buy a bike that is too small you will be unhappy with it after the first week that you start riding. And if you're going to be making payments on it then you will be stuck with it until you can pay enough down to sell it.
I think a good middle ground is something along the lines of a mid 90's CBR600 F3. It has nowhere close to the power of the 600's that are coming out now, its cheap, and it can still handle and accelerate if you need to get out of a dangerous situation (or catch up with a fine bitch that just went by you, at which point you stand up on the pegs at highway speed, whip out your balls and proceed to massage then while pointing at her. a move more commonly known as the dirty mckenzie.)
trust me. a buddy of mine bought a Suzuki GS500 because he was a beginner but was very unhappy with it after a short while.

My roommate got the GS500, got rid of it a couple of weeks later to another friend of ours. I agree, get something a little bigger, like the Hyabusa. j/k. Again, I agree with KC about the CBR, though, that's also because I'm a fan of them anyway. They're great beginners, small bodies, not hard to handle. However, I can't say that I've ever tried the Dirty Mackenzie on any bikes... I only do that in the safety of a car.

..
I really would not reccomend thte 250 its slow as shit.. i mean my grand prix could take the damn thing..
i would go with what KC said.. a 600 .. you can still have fun and not need to go 1 million miles per hour.

Yeah I was worried about that.
I'm 150 pounds, so I was just wondering about weight to power ratio bullshit blah blah blah
Yeah I want a bike, but I don't want to dump a shit load of cash right away. Thats why I was looking at a new bike.. I don't want to have to pay off 8 grand like someone I know *cough*
Yeah I don't want to die completely learning how to ride. I still want to learn how to ride from someone or somewhere. You see I missed out on the golden chance of learning how to ride because my brothers are fuckasses. Mainly my oldest brother who was a fuck ass and locked the pistons in our honda 250 dirtbike. He fucked it up pretty good.
Yea but a 600 is a good sized engine. My roommate and I were talking about it when we were at school. I want something that isn't going to make me cry because some Metro with a carbon fiber wing just burned me.. but I don't want a fucking deathrocket that is fast enough you can put it in a fucking car and still make it go 0-60 in 5 seconds flat (hyabusha was put into a roadster by suzuki)
But fo reals, if any of yall have a bike besides kc let me know. Btw did you get your battery to hold its charge KC?

nope, i need a voltage regulator rectifier to get the thingy to hold its charge... its a little black box that looks like an ignition module which says "SH633-12" on the side of it.

Good call on the early 600's However, I disagree on the 250 as far as slow as shit. They still go 100. And they RAIL in the corners. Ive ridden a friends and handed a guy on a 900RR his ass. But that all comes down to rider.

I currently ride a RC51. I freaking love it. Twins are my fav by far. Ive had inlines as well (F2, 929) but nothing compares to a twin IMO. The inlines hit harder and higher and overall are "faster" And I say that with quotes because I know Im faster on my RC. I love the way it pulls from down low to up high. And the sweet sweet sound. That being said. Again, I agree with an older 600 IF you are worried about outgrowing it.
Any bike gets you introuble, especially if you have NO experience. Check out the SV650. Sweet little scoot. Its a twin and a blast to ride. Its comfy (as far as that goes) and its fast if you want it to be. Maybe too fast. But you wont outgrow it, it may kill you but you wont outgrow it.
