Since the process involved 'ripping' the audio from analog tape to a .wav file, and then recording to CD - AND because I'm a stoner, AND because bongs are a GD kind of thing - I came up with BongRipper as my posting nick. I've used it ever since, wherever I wander.
Of course, my kids have only gotten the "audio ripping" portion of the story when they've bothered to ask about my online nick!

Re: What's in a name?
I made this up in high school. It's been my AIM name and I figured I might as well use it as my user name. G is for my first name Gary. soccer is because I played soccer in high school, and i still do when i get the chance. 35 was my number in high school and i just added a 0 to it. There you go Gsoccer035.

Re: What's in a name?
I had to dream up a name the first time I signed up for an email account...
I tried alien... apparently a lot of other aliens had alreaady been there, so the system suggested alien37...
Coincidentally, 37 had been a favorite number of mine for a long time... I am a computer programmer, and you will find a lot of 37's in my code....
So it stuck...
As the years go by, I become more alien like...
And no I was not then, nor am I now 37 years old...
Is anyone still reading this???

Re: What's in a name?
This name was made up for me.
I usually go with Commiebabe....(i used to get a lot of aol trolls asking me if it was cum baby, but they were jackoffs with nothing better to do than try and pick up underage girls on the internet)
But then I had to switch aol accounts and im now AmorDeElDiablo....

Re: What's in a name?
I ahve no clue.. I had to come up with something other than CHILINVLN.
CHILIN - VILLIAN
Chillin - I'm pretty laid back, don't really give a shit, and usually just go with whatever.
Villian - I do have my ways, and I'm always thinking about WHAT I could do, or what I'm capable of, but usually don't do it because I would get in WAY to much trouble.
Hijacker - I can't really explain this one, but it has a lot to do with computer accounts..
