While the storyline is fiction, the things that are said in it aren't all fiction. All the facts stated in that novel are accurate to the date.
Opus Dei IS in fact a real sect. They DO in fact have a $47 million National Headquarter on Lexington Ave. in NYC. And they DO in fact perform "corporal mortification". Here's the scan of one of the pages.

Personallly, I don't believe in the bible. But, I do believe generally in religion and if the Bible helps people be, even just slightly better then had they not read it, more power to the Bible and its followers.

why is there no mention of dinosaurs in the bible? didn't dinosaurs roam the earth? did mary and joseph ride into bethleham?

They werent significant. Man was one of the last things created by God, according to the Bible, so for the other 4-5 days, which could be millions of years for all we know (i take the days as periods/chapters and not literally days, or as some people think millenia).

And some of the prophets describe some crazy shit, so who knows if they were describing dinosaurs, or just imaginary animals. Men werent alive anyway, and i dont think they were into digging into the ground back in the day, so its really not that wierd that there isnt mention of dinosaurs in the Bible.

The thing about the Bible is most of it is not literal but figurative. Goliath was 9 cubits tall (could be wrong) thats one huge motherfucker, im sure it was an exagerrationg and the dude was probably like 7-8 feet tall. About the 7 day thing, the days could represent milestones not literal days, i.e. first came heaven and earth, then the land and the seas, etc.

Im not sure the Bible has too much to say about the Earth being the center of the universe. And the four corners reference could mean anything. People read poetry, and read between the lines. Whats so different with the Bible?

Religion may make excuses but the Bible is another thing all together. Religion is man made and used for mans self interest.
Anyone that has questioned the bible and then taken time to receive an answer(s) ...and has been given understanding to it's meaning(s)..... will never have a problem with anyone that does not....

Saying that.........

If you are unable to understand any aspects covered in the Bible then I
guess it is a difficult book for you and you will need something of a more simplistic nature that will help . Good Luck
