This is kinda in response to the how quick can you bed a girl thread...

Does any other guy here not try to just hook up with someone when he gets a chance? Example, my frat had a formal this weekend, and I knew that since my date (a girl I was set up with) was from a different school, she would be staying in my room because she didn't want to ride the train back to hers alone at night.

There are far fewer situations where it could be easier to try and put a move on someone and get some for just one night. While she was a cool girl and i had a good time, I didn't even try to hook up. Even though it's been since Spring Break since I got any, I would much rather try and find a girl who I would wanna see in the future instead of lookin for a one night stand.

Absolutely. There's plenty of times when I will not hook up with a girl, for various reasons. I wouldn't necessarily say they're noble reasons but I am not totally selfish when considering.

Anyway, when I am looking for a gal for a relationship, I'm certainly open to one night stands. I'm much too young and having too much fun to limit myself. There'll be plenty of time for a serious relationship later.

Putting all modesty aside for a second, I am a smart guy. I always have been and hope I always will be. When it comes to girls, the absolute most important thing to me is their personality and intellect. I probably couldn't get myself to go out with a girl who I couldn't connect with on an intellectual level. We are all gonna become old and wrinkly on the outside eventually, so when that time comes, I'm gonna want to be with someone who has a brain.

Everything else is just bonus, which is why I hope things will work out this summer between my ex and i after we have started kinda getting back together. Not only is she probably smarter than me, but she's got a sense of humor, is quite pretty, and is a runner... ahhhhhh.

Actually...I think it's great the way you think of women...not many men seem to think that way anymore. It's all about how they look and not so much on what else they have to offer. It's a comfort knowing there are some guys that are worth our time...

Just because I'd still like to be with her doesn't mean I'm not open to other options. wink. I am by all definitions still single.

Now I'm thinking... *sigh* Men are mean, non-caring creatures so often...what makes men act like that? What actually makes them think women need them in order to survive? I for one enjoy the pleasure of a gentle man...one who admires and respects me...as a woman. Why is it so hard to get...respect that is?? Do men actually believe it's below them to treat a woman well? Afraid a fellow male will think he's not so "macho" for respecting a woman...instead of trying to get laid? Women get bored with most good guys, because alot of the time they are simply boring creatures. However that doesn't mean all of us are. I told my ex this when we were together, I really do feel best when I know she's happy because of things I've done. Fuck what your friends think. The ones that rib you for stuff like that are the lonely ones who don't have a person that they really care about themselves.

Hallelujah. I'm in college. I don't need ridiculous marriage-relationships right now. I've tried one, and while it was fun and all that, overall I just felt suffocated. Now don't get me wrong, I don't go hooking up with everybody...but c'mon man, enjoy life for a while. College doesn't happen twice ya know.
