Re: Question about PS2

Having the same trouble myself although i have had mine a while. I prefered the PS2 lying down on ground and not upright like it should be and i found some discs don't get read that way so i changed it back to the normal upright position and now everything is good.

Re: Question about PS2

you're kidding right? it really works better standing upright? I've been waiting to get one till the price drops a little more and if this is true, I'm glad i found out. this way i won't run into any problems when i get mine.

Re: Question about PS2

I had that problem with my original PS2. I got it at launch and this started happening last year. I called Sony and they took it back and fixed it for only the price to ship it. Best advice, call them up and see what they can do for you.

I don't know about the guy who started this post, but in my case i had no problems at all with my PS2 either lying down or sitting up-right.It's only been recently after owning it for a year and a half that i've had the small problem. There's no problems with it for a long long time, not to mention while it sat up-right it was knocked over a few times.I'll happily get another one, i love the PS2, you shouldn't have any worries.

Re: Question about PS2

My PS2 does the same thing. I've opened her up about 25 times and cleaned her out. It works for about a month then I have to do it all over again. Its really bad with any EA games.

Re: Question about PS2

I've heard that in the first batch of ps2 systems... there was some sort of bug that was in them and the first people who got a ps2 experience some problems with it... but then they fixed the bug in the second batch of systems... don't know if it's true or not but it sounds true because most of the people I know who bought the system when it came out had troubles with it... I just bought mine about a year ago and hadn't really experienced any problems... but recently my MVP baseball game that I just bought for a few weeks now, keeps freezing and I don't know why

Re: Question about PS2

Or maybe the laser is not working. Send it to Sony, although I'm not sure if it's more economical to just purchase a new PS2.

Re: Question about PS2

Yeah, my PS2 reads games fine, but i've decided that it's totally worthless as a DVD player. It will sometimes just stop in mid-movie and spaz out.

Re: Question about PS2

My PS2 reads DVDs fine, and I use my PS2 as a DVD player. Nothing bad has ever happened to me yet and all my discs are still in good condition.
