I listen to a lot of acapella music (all vocals, no instruments). From vocal jazz, to collegiate acapella, to barbershop (don't laugh... barbershop is better than most people's stereotypes of it.)

What kind of acapella moments stick in your mind as "cool".

Examples: Phish singing acapella live in concert... or the National Anthem acapella.
Huey Lewis and the News doing "naturally".

Seeing Rockapella on "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago?"

There are a lot of acapella groups at my school. Some of them are pretty good.

usually barbershop stuff comes to mind

i was in a guys vocal group in high school that did some covers of dave matthews songs

I started in high school, too. Played sax in band/jazz band. It was funny how the barbershop octet got as big a crowd response as the jazz band did.
Good acapella turns the chick on, man.
