Good video, good processor and as much memory as you can afford. This game is brutal! But DAMN it looks good.

The physics and sound really make it the most 'realistic' game i've played to date... shooting the doorgunner in a helicopter and having him droop and fall out the door then splash into a river a couple of dozen yards below me was probably the highlight of my gaming year. As has been said, you need a really good machine to get it purring (as it was I had everything about half quality and it was still awesome)
