international hockey
Now that canada won the IHWC gold over sweeden we are tied with the soviet union for the most golds in both that tournament and in the olympics. we are finally back up to the top of the world... althought the only reason the soviets were so good is because their team the red army was compsed of army members.
yay canada....

Re: international hockey
why does that put you on top of the world? you say that soviets were only good becuase of Red Army. You were only good cause the rest of the world didnt know about hockey yet. If the US had the kind of intrest that Canada does we would dominate just like every other sport

Hockey is huge in europe. sweeden now has one of hte best teams in hockey as well as germany and the check republic. i hate that holy than though arnt american aditude. grow up and admit that maybe just maybe you guys suck at certain things. I mean we created the sport so it would make sence that we dominated.. and you can go back to your boring baseball and nascar

Re: international hockey
You can say all you want about the US being bad at hockey, but hey, whens the last time a canadian team won the Stanley cup. Besides, the US just won the Juniors over canada, or did you forget. THe only reason why we didnt win IHWC is because we have no goaltending, and two of our best players... Chlelios and Hull... were hurt.

lol
goaltending is everything.
if Chelios and Hull are the best, then the US is in trouble. they were dominating players in their day and can still be dominating on good days, but they are both well past their prime.

Re: international hockey
I didnt say they were the best, but the Us is in a lot of trouble when Drury is our captain, and our leading scorer was Chang? I dont really remember his name, but he wasent even born in the US, he's from north korea, but is now a US citizen. As far as goaltending goes, we have a few people that will someday make US International hockey great. Dipietro, Robert Esche, and U of M goaltender Tom Montoya are all american, and are all solid goaltenders at the very least

Re: international hockey
Hull is only on the American team because he couldn't make the Canadian National team quite a few years back...thank goodness for dual citizenship, eh?! GO CANADA GO! What's that, 5-2 Canada?

Re: international hockey
Ya, alot of people have dual citizenship. But you dont see to many americans jumping at the chance to be a canadian. The US just won Juniors over Canada like 3 months ago and canada had Marc Andre Flurey. The problem with the IHWC is that it comes in the middle of hockey playoffs so the teams arent balanced.

Re: international hockey
First thing is first...Marc Andre Fleury is a terrible goaltender. I'm not sure why he was selected first overall last summer, I guess it's just because Pittsburgh needed a goalie. He should never have been selected as the number one pick. And like you said, "Canada had Marc Andre Fleury..." Well, he's pretty much the reason we lost, so I wouldn't make it sound like he's a good goaltender or anything like that. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway, we'll see how the teams do this fall. I'm just hoping that it's a good tournament and the hockey is exciting...really, that's all anyone can want.
