Re: I'm thinking about getting an XBOX

My brother has Xbox and I have PS2. I love the PS2 however, I too and thinking about picking up an Xbox. Modchips, various modding apps and other tricks can make that Xbox just as good if not better than any other system. With the next generation consoles coming soon(2005 or 6 I think) we all stil have time t mess around with the current box. Check out http://www.xb-t.com. They have a cool modification gallery of other XBOX owners who get creative with their machines... Enjoy!

whatever u do, don't buy a Xbox. Crappy games and a clumsy controller is atleast enough for me to buy a decent computer instead...

Re: I'm thinking about getting an XBOX

brilliant value console,

I prefer playing games on this to the PC. it would cost me a thousand pounds to get a PC to play the same games as the xbox as well as the xbox does. I played a demo of TOCA race driver 2 on a PC AMD 2400+ with 512mb ram and geforce mx4 graphics and that cost £700 I played the demo of the same game on the xbox, the xbox was smoother the TV smoothed out the jaggies and made the game look tons better, so you need tons of money to keep the pc up to date, the xbox stays on the same hardware so the developers can optimise it to its maximum potential.

Oh Just get one you won't regret it, and I don't hate the PS2 either its just showing its age when it plays games alongside the xbox.

Maybe because that video card is a bottom of the line from 3 years ago?

Re: I'm thinking about getting an XBOX

The XBox is a great game system. We have two, and playing system linked between rooms is lots of fun. I agree, it's just a PC inside there. But the reason why I'd rather the XBox over a PC is because you can have multiplayer on one system. Plus games for xbox use the same hardware set, so games are made specifically for that system. Where as on a PC, with each game that comes out, you have a wide range of requirements, and its seems like with each new game, it taxes your system more and more, until you need to update your hardware again. If you're gonna play games, I say stick with a console for the most part.

Re: I'm thinking about getting an XBOX

I am considering one also. It helps that they lowered the price. BUT the PS3 is coming out in 2005 (I think, may be holiday season '05 which makes it about 2 1/2 years away!). Sounds like it will be worth it though.
