Insomnia
I'm up
Eyes are heavy but the mind won't rest
...I need peace but can't find it tonight
Not lately
Too much in the heart, out of my sight
...I'm doing my best
...Drank teas with herbs to ease tensions deep
Still I can't sleep
I can't smile or weep
Reoccuring thoughts make sleep cycles interrupted
Sad songs make sweet dreams corrupted
I know what I need, but won't be satisfied
Can't have you laying by my side
Can't have you on rainy or sunny days
Can't romance you in so many ways
My thoughts keep wandering
My mind keeps pondering
Still I can't sleep
I maybe could if I would allow the joy to let me weep
When will this night be through?
...I'm feeling these things brand new
Trying to make sense of these truths
I'm missing someone I never had
Just whole-heartedly missing you
