Poem: Missing You
Missing You
The other night you told me
You aren't worth missing...
So if that were true,
Then I'll never miss kissing
Those lips of yours.
But maybe, just maybe,
I don't want to forget,
Those little things yet,
And I'm willing to bet
That you...
Don't really believe
What you said.
What's wrong with that?
Missing you I mean...
Should I enjoy my time...
With you?
How childish of me,
How foolish of me...
Perhaps;
But for those rare moments,
My heartbeats lapse
Into one giant thud,
Blood turns into mud,
Just coursing my veins,
Slowly...
Heart pounding,
Echos resounding.
Is it so hard to believe
That you could be missed?
If so, just tell me,
I'll try to resist
Getting caught in the midst
Of thinking like that;
If you insist.
But, it won't be easy,
This I can guarantee...
Do you disagree?
Of course you do,
Because you are just you,
Nothing special, nothing fancy,
But its all in your mind
And its all been confined,
Up there for so long
That there's really no way
You'll accept that you're wrong.
But lets think about this,
The things I enjoy
About you,
And yes, they're all true,
So please don't ask,
Because this is no small task,
For me...
Your smile, that's one;
Cheesy, I know,
But I'm not quite done...
I've not yet begun!
(To write.)
Yes, your eyes are worth missing
The same goes for your hair,
Not to mention your company,
And those threatening glares
The prepare me,
But scare me;
Please spare me!
I swear...
It wasn't me!
Even your laugh,
I've discovered,
(Though its hard to uncover,
And I'll never quite recover
From the first time I heard it)
Will be missed...
I just couldn't resist.
But the things I'll miss most,
Is just talking with you,
Walking with you...
Simple, but true.
I'll miss hearing your thoughts
About the clothes that you've bought,
And how you hate snot;
Grasshoppers you've caught.
Yes...All of this
(and more)
Is definitely worth missing,
Even those lips of yours,
That I'm afraid to try kissing.
I'll miss it all,
Whether you like it or not,
I don't think I'll quit,
And I have to admit,
That I think you're worth it.
I'll miss you.
