Hey lovely,
You are always welcome here in my bed in NY. Don't worry about that guy if he isn't interested.

Re: 2 issues
I have 2 cents (not worthmuch, but still mine):
First, if you work as a dispatcher, or close to it, you have an extrememly stressful job. Take care of number 1 before anybody else. Sounds like you tried to "rescue" the first guy and there are men who will prey on kind, generous women just to use them.
As far as dating where you work, sometimes it's the only avenue for some. Don't be afraid to pursue something that you might later regret as a What if I would have . . .? You never know, he might be the "One." It's harmless to ask a man to lunch or to dinner. In fact, it's very flattering for us.
If working around the first guy becomes uncomfortable for you, do talk to your supervisor in confidence. You spend a considerable amount of time at the workplace and you should, at the very least, be comfortable at work and never feel as though you have to avoid any person or place.
(and don't try to make the second guy jealous. that is just playing games and doesn't reveal your true intent. Plus, he wouldn't know when you were actually being serious with him. . . just a thought.)

Re: 2 issues
Uh-Huh. There was alot of advice given, but I doubt any of it will pull much weight except for that which agrees with what you already had your mind set to do.
Were you looking for reassurance as well?

Re: 2 issues
if you want the second guy, just walk up to him and ask him out for some cocktails. that way you are in a public ploace and you can feel him out to see if he is what you are looking for.
and if the first guy keeps poling his nose were it doesn't belong...jsut talk to the bosses and see what can be done. if that doesn't work, get him fired

Re: 2 issues
Totally ignore the first guy he is a loser. Never date an unemployed dude. Coed softball is a great ice breaker. Option 1 after the game try and sit by him at the bar you go to, post game beers usually get things going.
Option 2 ask him to goto the batting cage with you. That you would like a some pointers with your hitting. No guy would say no. He will be flattered you think he is good. Even if he sucks at softball, then you can work on it together. then go out for a beer after.
