BTW, it's also the most regessive tax we have, so with all of the discussion about income tax cuts, it's really SS that we should cut.

My wife just got a job with Orange County Social Services - did you guys realize that State & Fed Gov't employees also don't pay any SS out of their checks? They have a pension plan that replaces it (I guess they know it won't be there in the future) & they don't personally contribute to it...

So she took the job for $5 an hour less than what she made in private industry, but her take-home pay is actually higher now!

I gotta get in on that deal!

At the alarming rate the President and his buddies are spending federal moneys and dipping in Your SS accounts there's no need to worry about exemptions because by the time you get to draw from your SS account all you're gona get is an IOU.

It's not just the current President. The former Pres just fudged the numbers to show a surplus. Nobody seems to care about balancing the budget and paying down the deficit. It's a trend in politics and the blame is on both parties.
