Since Carsten can break the rules by making a new thread after eddie has closed one... here we go again:

Western European countries do not have pure socialized medicine. They are turning more and more to an Americanized system. This is because the current system costs too much, people are melingering, and taxes are through the roof. People get angry when they are forced to pay for something, so they just use as much of it as they want because they feel they have the right. Doctors are overloaded and underpaid. People abuse the system without consequence. Do some research on the subject and read the facts. If you're going to sit here and call me an idiot, know what you're talking about.
Germany actually started socialized medicine in the late 1800's under Bizmarck, the system caused so much turmoil that it was one of the many things Hitler was able to take advantage of. This is why Germany currently leans towards a more Americanized system of private insurance and very limited socialized medicine. They do have a more extensive medicare program than the US but they do not have pure socialized medicine. Great Britain was heralded as this great example of socialized medicine until the last few years when doctors have begun going on strike and people are pissed about not getting quality care.

Basically here's the cliff's notes:
Both Systems Suck! If you really care to know about any of it, just do some research. This is a huge international debate right now, and it is currently leaning heavily in the favor of de-socializing medicine. There are huge flaws everywhere and people falls through the cracks. We like to bitch and complain about the way everything is run but nobody seems to be able to come up with a viable solution.
So basically, if you really give a shit, then do your research and come up with a better plan, otherwise, i like things the way they are, i'm not blind, i'm not an idiot, and i have an honest opinion that i can support with fact!

and you guys really shouldnt pay too much attention to what happens in other countries. it could lead to like, anger, confusion... and a bunch of other emotions i dont like to deal with.
