Quick Question: Is an ATI MOBILITY RADEON™ 9000 IGP graphics card enough to play the lastest games and if so how long will it last until it's outdated? it says on the website that it's top spec for mobile performance but i dont know how old that article is!

Re: Graphics Cards?

Mobile and desktop performance are extremely different. Laptops are not made for the newer high end games where as gaming desktops are.

I would say that you are going to need something better than a Radeon 9000 to play the newest games.

Re: Graphics Cards?

Some laptop graphics chips are the Mobility Radeon 9700, GeForce GO 6200 Turbocache, and GeForce GO 6800 Ultra... probably your best best would be the 6200 if you're on a budget (not sure how the 9700 price/perf would compare to this tho). But if you're gaming at home, nothing beats a desktop.

Re: Graphics Cards?

the highend alienware laptop has the option of a GeForce GO 6800 Ultra or a X800. that is the best you can go. but also that is about a $2500 laptop
