The NFL today
Just curious what everyone thinks about the NFL these days with the salary cap and free agency. No more dynasty teams, players are floating around team to team looking for the bigger buck. Every year seems to get stranger and stranger. There's no team loyalty anymore, money talks or they walk.
Its not like they're under paid.
It used to be a sport now it seems more like a game.

Re: The NFL today
WOW!!! You chose to complain about this sort of thing in of all leagues the NFL?! HUH?! HELLO?! MLB, NBA!!!! They don't even bother to try to keep marquee players. The wealthiest teams buy championships every year. Look at the Lakers and Yankees. Those are goddamn all-star teams. The NFL's salary cap system prevents that kind of bullshit from occuring and free-agency allows players to seek more money but they still don't get astronomical contracts like A-Rod or Shaq. In regards to dynasties, do we need them? Do you really want that? Do you want sports to be completely predictable and boring with the outcome predetermined by the size of a team's bank account. HELL NO!!! There's great parity in the NFL and thats what makes it the most successful and most popular sport in America, while baseball and basketball are hemmoraging. We have a Superbowl between the Panthers and the Patriots and I think thats great. Granted I'd rather see Patriots vs. Green Bay, but Tom Rossley and Mike Sherman fucked that up for me. Speaking of coaches, if you want dynasties, look to the coaches, not the players. As more and more players are trained in a certain manner, the talent begins to plateau and players become interchangeable with a selct few superstars. Good coaching is becoming the most important factor in the NFL. Why do you think the Packers aren't in the Superbowl?

Re: The NFL today
Ease up there guy, I wasn't complaining jus wanted to know what people thought. I think the salary cap is great..keeps the Yankee types like you said from buying a championship. I just think its weird that a team like the Panthers who were 1-15 two years ago can turnaround and be in the Bowl. I would like to see the players making more of an impact on the game than coaches and coordinators. You have some interesting/valid views...which is why I opened this thread.
