Windows 2000 question
Ok, so I have an old Dell Optiplex GX110. Running XP on it would bog it down, so I decided to put use Windows 2000 Profesional. Now that I have 2K on it, I found out that the only files supported by windows paint are the bimap files. Is there any upgrade for windows paint on this OS, or does anyone know of any good freeware that'll work for this on windows 2000?
I don't know much about programming and all that, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Windows 2000 question
Paint will support jpg images. Check your file associates and re-associate it with MSPaint.

Re: Windows 2000 question
Thanks Hijacker, I'll try to figure out to do that. As of now, when I click on a .jpg image, it opens through Internet Explorer. Paint works well on the computer here, but that one has XP on it. So far I can't figure out windows 2K.

Re: Windows 2000 question
Great small and freeware image viewers:
IrfanView
XnView - this is pretty much like ACDSee but open source and free
Freeware image editor:
GIMP - Photoshop without spending big bucks, of course not quite all of the exact same features but they are getting closer. Open source
