moved to a new town, lonely. how do i meet people?
SO i just got off my freshman year in college. My girlfriend of 1.4 years and I broke up in april, after that i was lonely as hell in college because she was pretty much my everything when it came to socialization since my roommate got a gf and spends all his time with her.
Anyway, i got this internship down here in san antonio and i'm living with a family of 4 (mom, 2 sons and a (cute) daughter). I hung out with the girl some today, but she is waaayyy too "high school" for me. Popular, preppy, etc. (Though her and 5 friends are skipping school tomorrow and having a party here with alcohol involved, maybe some of her friends will be figgerent, but i doubt it)
Anyway, i need to meet some real people here or i'm gonna go crazy. Anyone have any advice?

Re: moved to a new town, lonely. how do i meet people?
well before i moved down here i was too busy with the ol' girlfriend to go out much, but i'd meet people in class and stuff. Course now i have an 8-5 job with people 1.5-3x my age, so it's a little harder to meet people.
Oh, and that high school chick is getting drunk with like 7 of her friends right now. They're pretty hot, but bitchy popular types so i really don't want to hang with them.
Anyway, i'll shoot you a PM

yeah i know what you mean about the whole bitchy populor girls.... they are very nice to look at, but think way to much of themselves..... but i don't have much experiece in meeting new people.... still kinda shy but working on it.... and if you were at school meeting new people would be a breeze bc you got classes and the people on your floor and what not. but anyhoo, i guess i would say just go out to some bars.... o wait you just finished your freshman year... and your prolly 19.... never mind.... my bad.

I'm thinkin findin an area or place that has something you like. Say if you like reading books, find a book club. Gamer? Find the local LAN arena. You'z a ballah? go play some basketball them spurs know what they're doing im sure you could find some competition down there.
That's my idea anyways; find somewhere where you can find a middleground between people.
