HTML...How do I teach myself?
Is there a good web site that can walk me through html coding? Just knowing a little bit seems to let me do a lot of different things with a couple blogs that I keep around as a hobby/joke.

Re: HTML...How do I teach myself?
I actually own a book called "Teach Yourself HTML"
It's a hardback book in mint condition that was $49. If you want it, I'll send it to you for $20 bucks shipped. Interested?

Re: HTML...How do I teach myself?
I think i have something similar to teach yourself HTML or it maybe is that book... And it is quite comprehensive on the issue. However there are two sides to the HTML story. If you want to get serious with it then buy a nice fat book which covers virtually every aspect of HTML, otherwise if you just plan on learning as you go / fooling around with html then i say just google for what you need

Re: HTML...How do I teach myself?
yah google should be just fine, the concepts of a html are way easier to understand than any other language. Its all pretty straight forward for the most part. im sure there are PLENTY of e-books on this sort of thing scattered throughout the internet.. also you can try netlibrary.com

Re: HTML...How do I teach myself?
bleh- books suck for learning
Go to a website, click file-> save
now you can open it on your computer... open up the .htm or .html file and starting poking around... make a change, save it, then open up the file in your web browser and see what your changes did.
That's how I learned, and that's how I recommend people learn. Basic html is just to easy to spend money on a book for it... buy a book when you want to learn flash, or java, or something like that

You can learn alot by seeing how other people code their sites, but if you know nothing to start a book isn't a bad idea. It's also nice to have as a reference.

Re: HTML...How do I teach myself?
Open up Front Page, use it to make scrolling marquees, dynamic html effects, active x controls, functions and buttons etc, then view the html code for it.

Re: HTML...How do I teach myself?
Thanks for the offer for the book, but it's not really that serious. Just want to be able to change font sizes and put in links properly, you know?
Kiddie stuff, I guess.
