Which is the best DVD ripper out there ?

....I have lots of hard disk space lying around and would like to rip some rented DVD's for playing back later. (I have Inter Video WinDVD player 6.0 and also BSplayer installed in my machine)....what are the worthy s/w out there for this?

You can rip DVDs with DVD Shrink.
I've done it myself, and I have a friend that does it with NetFlix DVDs he gets from them.

Heh, that's the only reason I use Shrink, to rip or back up DVD movies.

Hmmm... maybe I'm wrong here, but I took DDGuy's idea of 'ripping' as 'compressing and saving to HDD as normal DVD size'.

No you are not wrong....that was my idea but now I realize that even if I want to just copy the DVD to HDD, I have a chance to reduce its size by "re-authoring" i.e. taking away all the bells and whistels that I don't want. That's good.....although I am still new at it and so may be wrong.
