They can't just say she was a liar unless she comes forward and admit's that (which I doubt she will as she could see some serious jail time for that). To do it gracefully they could just say new light has come to the case and they are dropping the charges against Kobe. They don't have to apologize or explain what the new light is, it will look like they just decided to drop the case as a matter of ethics, which will make all party's appear fine, except the accuser of course.

On the other hand Kobe's team could always arrange for the new light to find it's way to media attention.
