So, this depends on if you get good feedback from her in the compliments department, etc. Tell her you'll get back to her on the date thing. Of course you will tell her "she said no" rather late the next evening (at earliest - don't get up w/ her before that b/c it would look odd to say you talked to her about it by 11:00 am) Then when you hold her to her promise, make sure she knows what your plan was after you guys are out at dinner. She should think it sweet of you to go to such lengths for a date.

What you have to consider since you like her so much it will screw the relationship up anyways so you got nothing to loose.
Imagine when she starts dating someone else how you will feel.
I say you just tell her flat out I realy like you more then i frien and be specific on what you want out of it.
It worked for me we're happily married and I thank god every day i grew some balls to do it.
