What's the best CD cloner?
Nero.... useless
Alcohol 120... cripes! What a pc pig! It was good 2 or 3 years ago but times have changed.
I was wondering what's the latest preferred copy program that can work with the latest protections? I see a lot of ISO or BIN files that cannot be handled by A120 anymore.
Thanks-

Re: What's the best CD cloner?
I still use A120 and have never had any problem with it. It might be the version you're using. The latest version is 1.9.5.2722, which just came out a few days ago.
CloneCD is ok, but I don't like how it creates something like 3 or 4 files for one CD and the main image files is always much better than the real content of the original CD. Plus there are many cases I've seen where by having CloneCD installed and trying to run games off of ISOs I've made of my games I get an error about a CD emulator being installed, which is something CloneCD doesn't even do the last I checked.

Re: What's the best CD cloner?
I've seen the same problem with A120's Cd emulator... some games sense that A120 is on your pc and will not let you install the game. I do not want the virtual CD drive option. I have too many drive letters on my pc now (raid system).
The A120 option I had was 1.9.2 build 1705... time to look for an updated program I guess.
Thanks for the info-

Re: What's the best CD cloner?
1705 is the one I've been using and with no problems.
I haven't updated to 2722 just yet....too lazy for one thing.
I don't use A120's cd emulator either, the funny thing is even if you have it off but have the copy protection emulations turned on it can cause problems.
I do use DaemonTools though, and also just as strange is there have been once or twice when it's copy protection emulation on it caused problem but with it off it's just fine. Go figure.
You said before that A120 had problems reading ISO, right? Was the ISOs you made or that you download?
I normally only use A120 to make ISOs but I use Nero for the burns and with no problem.

CloneCD and CloneDVD2 (running with DVD region + CSS free)...
Perfect copies of CD or DVD.
