MP3 playing 3 seconds at a time?
I don't know if this is a good place to post this or not, but whatever.
I recently recorded a few albums onto my computer using MusicMatch Jukebox (Full Version 10 and no, it's not an illegal copy I paid 60 bucks for that). Anyway a few songs that I recorded claim to be 32kbps, but they play 3 seconds at a time with no appreciable sound loss. They were originally recorded at 80% VBR (192 I think), but they came out like this. Not all of the songs are like this and there doesn't seem to be any regular interval. I was just curious at to the cause and whether or not this can be repaired. I don't like playing songs that claim to be 15 minutes long, messes with my AutoDJ.

That's an odd one. Are you playing the MP3s back in Musicmatch? Some (though few, anymore) mp3 players don't support VBR.

Yea I'm playing them in musicmatch. I know its odd I can't find anything about it on the internet. I found a program that will change bitrate, but I don't think that will help the time issue at all.

Re: MP3 playing 3 seconds at a time?
I wonder if the actual file is encoded bad or if it's the codec playing wrong. Do you have any type of audio editing program you could bring it into to look at the waveform and maybe see if there's actually just 3 second bursts of sound?

Good idea. Go download Acoustica, with that software, you can view the entire layout of .wav, or .mp3 files. If it is a burst, edit the file and resave it as an MP3 again.

Re: MP3 playing 3 seconds at a time?
Accoustica played the files fine. A fixed a few of them but I don't know if I really want to go through and find and fix all of them. Maybe if I get bored and have some time on my hands. Thanks a lot though.
